Cascadia Bank Notes

Overall Design Philosophy

I modeled the notes loosely after modern Canadian currency because Canadian bills:

• Celebrate geography rather than political figures

• Use color-coded denominations

• Emphasize cultural identity

• Incorporate transparent symbolism and storytelling

• Show a relationship between people and landscape

• 
  

For Cascadia specifically, I avoided presdients, politicians, or anything military because fuck the military.

Instead, the notes would celebrate:

• Indigenous stewardship of the land

• Ecological responsibility

• Watershed-based identity

• Community self-determination

• The interconnectedness of forests, mountains, rivers, and oceans

• 
  

I want the Cascadia currency to say:

"We belong to the land, not the other way around."
